Fred Eger started the match with the kick off. After 9 played minutes Pirapema got a freekick which was hit by Duarte Silveira. In the 12th minute, Reynaldo Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juvenal Gerber shot from long distance in the 13th minute, but César Ferraz was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Jorge Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Ricardo Tepedino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jorge Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Victor Paiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Tepedino was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Sá in the 22nd minute of play forced Pirapema's goalkeeper Ricardo Tepedino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. César Ferraz made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Zé Paulo Linares sent off a good shot on target. If Jorge Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. Ricardo Tepedino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After 43 minutes of play, Restinga EC's Jorge Sá made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The Pirapema players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Restinga EC were winning 0-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Paiva was the one to do the kick off. Fred Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Ferraz having to interfere. In the 59th minute of the match Rubinho Prata sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Tepedino skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victor Paiva in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Tepedino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Pirapema's zone, Jorge Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Tepedino came out of the goal and Jorge Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Restinga EC's Victor Paiva in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pirapema's goalie prevented a goal. If Zé Paulo Linares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Zé Paulo Linares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pirapema fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. After 86 played minutes Restinga EC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Augusto Lima. Pirapema's Zé Paulo Linares got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo Linares in the 98th minute of play forced Restinga EC's goalkeeper César Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Restinga EC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
