The referee ignored Tupari SC's protests and gave Leopoldo Pimenta a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Tupari SC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Leopoldo Pimenta hit a great ball. The supporters of Tupari SC booed when Restinga EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Augusto Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Restinga EC's goalkeeper César Ferraz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Victor Paiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luisão Couto was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Celso de Alcântara helped the player get up and apologised. César Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléberson Fontes in the 25th minute of the match. If Jorge Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. César Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osmar Amaral in the 32nd minute of play. In the 48th minute, Jorge Sá fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Luisão Couto, passed just outside the right post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cléberson Fontes made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Victor Paiva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Luisão Couto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luisão Couto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. If Jorge Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Tupari SC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Celso de Alcântara hit a great ball. When Jorge Sá came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Restinga EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Sá couldn't finish the play. Luisão Couto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Paiva in the 60th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Tupari SC's Oswaldo Romero broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Restinga EC's César Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléberson Fontes in the 65th minute of play. Jorge Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorge Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Luisão Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 71 minutes into the game, when Oswaldo Romero put in a rough tackle. In the 82nd minute, Victor Paiva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Restinga EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Jorge Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tupari SC's goalkeeper Luisão Couto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. There was no doubt that Restinga EC were the better team. Restinga EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
