Sabino de Queirós placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Naldo Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Abel Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Nunes's late challenge caught a Esquerda FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Nunes helped the player get up and apologised. Luiz Nunes hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Esquerda FC's Sabino de Queirós got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 30thth minute of the game João Pedro Veiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esquerda FC's Chicão Reis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Moisés Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, Moisés Peixoto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bebeto Macedo. Ibicacu SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moisés Peixoto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 48th minute, Moisés Peixoto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Esquerda FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Moisés Peixoto to make the kick off. Ibicacu SS's Luiz Nunes got his second yellow card of the match in the 55th minute. The referee ordered Luiz Nunes off the ground. Luiz Nunes kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Moisés Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bebeto Macedo having to interfere. 63 minutes into the game, Naldo Soares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Abel Alvarenga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Bebeto Macedo made a huge save. Isaltino Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Reis having to interfere. If Moisés Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. João Pedro Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 75th minute Moisés Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bebeto Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaltino Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Chicão Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Rodrigo Souto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abel Alvarenga got free with Bebeto Macedo in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Abel Alvarengas short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Bebeto Macedo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With his leg Bebeto Macedo managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Esquerda FC's Abel Alvarenga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bebeto Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moisés Peixoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Esquerda FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
