The referee ignored Bytes EC's protests and gave Eusébio Severo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th minute, Eusébio Severo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute of the game, Arnaldo Correia landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hélio de Brito during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Bytes EC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Hélio de Brito hit a great ball. Hélio de Brito hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. José Augusto de Souza made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Jacinto Lima sent off a good shot on target. 32 minutes into the game, Jacinto Lima cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. José Augusto de Souza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jacinto Lima scored 2-0 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Augusto de Souza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jacinto Lima received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. José Augusto de Souza came out and tried to block the shot, but Jacinto Lima slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 38th minute. José Augusto de Souza made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Claudinei Madureira sent off a good shot on target. 47 minutes into the match, Glycerio's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Dantas came free, but Geovanni Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jacinto Lima to strike the kick off in the second half. José Augusto de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Glycerio's Claudinei Madureira in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. José Augusto de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After having played for 80 minutes, Luciano Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glycerio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luciano Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Lima in the 84th minute of play forced Bytes EC's goalkeeper José Augusto de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 played minutes Glycerio got a freekick which was hit by Otávio Zilles. José Augusto de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano Silva in the 95th minute of play.
