The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Diguinho Neiva struck a weak shot in the 2nd minute. Mané Meireles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bytes EC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Dantas in the 4th minute of play forced Tucuruvi SC's goalkeeper Mané Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute, Magno Corrêa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Augusto de Souza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Bytes EC's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo Tinoco came free, but José Augusto de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgar Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abelardo Tinoco was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. Tucuruvi SC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Abelardo Tinoco hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the match, Tucuruvi SC's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Dantas came free, but Mané Meireles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tucuruvi SC's Mané Meireles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Dantas in the 31st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Magno Corrêa in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Augusto de Souza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thanks to some nice moves Agnaldo Mota could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which José Augusto de Souza however easily saved by the left post. If Diguinho Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Tomé de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute of the match Ezequiel Arruda sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mané Meireles skillfully saved the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgar Dantas to strike the kick off in the second half. José Augusto de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agnaldo Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the game, Diguinho Neiva recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mané Meireles. Diguinho Neiva showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Mané Meireles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute, Bytes EC's Edgar Dantas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mané Meireles. Mané Meireles yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. José Augusto de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magno Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. When Eusébio Severo fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bytes EC's protests and gave Eusébio Severo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tucuruvi SC booed when Bytes EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Severo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tucuruvi SC's Abelardo Tinoco got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Edgar Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, Agnaldo Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ezequiel Arruda's shot from long distance in the 81st minute was not bad at all, but Tucuruvi SC's Mané Meireles knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Tinoco in the 99th minute of play forced Bytes EC's goalkeeper José Augusto de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Bytes EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bytes EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
