Colona FC's Ernesto Antunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Colona FC from getting a goal against them. After 63 minutes of play, Colona FC's Armando Melo made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo Renato Varela was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paulo Renato Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademar Ferreira in the 66th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Melo came free, but Paulo Renato Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cícero Pitta received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Robinho Gerber could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Ernesto Antunes made a huge save. After having played for 93 minutes, Cícero Pitta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Botafogo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cícero Pitta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 95 minutes into the match, Ademar Ferreira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Renato Varela. Botafogo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ademar Ferreira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Botafogo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Colona FC.
