Raúl Moura struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Juninho de Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PAIA. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredão Munhoz got free with Juninho de Alcântara in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 10 played minutes PAIA got a freekick which was hit by Vágner Oliveira. In the 11th minute Pedro Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Fernão Pombal fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jaburu AD's protests and gave Fernão Pombal a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of PAIA booed when Jaburu AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernão Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredão Munhoz in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juninho de Alcântara saved Jaburu AD from getting behind. 27 minutes into the match, Alfredão Munhoz notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Jaburu AD's Juninho de Alcântara. Juninho de Alcântara was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 32nd minute Alfredão Munhoz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho de Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to PAIA getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Christiano de Lima hit a great ball. Luís Romero charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Romero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of PAIA booed when Jaburu AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

PAIA's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
