Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Faustão Chaves started the match with the kick off. Percival Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elvira's Edvaldo Tasso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Elvira from getting a goal against them. Mathias Paulista charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mathias Paulista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mathias Paulista hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. The long shot by Horácio Lara in the 13th minute really tested Edvaldo Tasso's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Guabiju SS's Luiz Fernando Botelho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustão Chaves in the 19th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Elvira's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luiz Fábio Nóbrega fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Faustão Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elvira's supporters rose to their feet, but Faustão Chaves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fernando Botelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 34 minutes, Faustão Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elvira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faustão Chaves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Edu Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fernando Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faustão Chaves in the 38th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Guabiju SS's Percival Viana got a free kick in the 45th minute. Geovanni Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The wind increased when Percival Viana made the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Maurinho Oliveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Elvira's Edvaldo Tasso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 54 minutes, Percival Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guabiju SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percival Viana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Percival Viana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edvaldo Tasso. Elvira's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Percival Viana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Elvira's Geovanni Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maurinho Oliveira during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Maurinho Oliveira hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Edvaldo Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Percival Viana in the 66th minute of the match. After having played for 68 minutes, Luiz Fábio Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guabiju SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fábio Nóbrega was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Percival Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvaldo Tasso having to interfere. Maurinho Oliveira got his second yellow card in the match during the 80th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Elvira booed when Guabiju SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurinho Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Fernando Botelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edu Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Elvira's zone, Luiz Fábio Nóbrega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edvaldo Tasso came out of the goal and Luiz Fábio Nóbrega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd minute, Luiz Fábio Nóbrega got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 95th minute Luiz Fábio Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guabiju SS's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
