If Arlindo Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natanael Esteves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Digo Velasco made a huge save. 10 minutes into the match, Capuaba SS's goalkeeper Digo Velasco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Natanael Esteves. Maragipinho EC's Ademir Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos Linhares in the 11th minute of play. Ademir Veloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arlindo Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Maragipinho EC's Diego Velasco got a free kick in the 21st minute. Gilberto Magalhães's late challenge caught a Capuaba SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilberto Magalhães helped the player get up and apologised. After 27 minutes, Antônio Carlos Linhares made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Maragipinho EC's Ademir Veloso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Maragipinho EC's zone, Arlindo Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ademir Veloso came out of the goal and Arlindo Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Maragipinho EC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Reginaldo Ribeiro hit a great ball. In the 34th minute Arlindo Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ademir Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antônio Carlos Linhares scored 1-2 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ademir Veloso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arlindo Borges stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes, Capuaba SS's Jarbas Reis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ademir Veloso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Capuaba SS reached it. In the 54th minute, Rafael Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arlindo Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58th match minute, Maragipinho EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléberson Urbano to maneuver through the defense. Digo Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natanael Esteves in the 68th minute of play. Cléberson Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Digo Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th match minute, Maragipinho EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléberson Urbano to maneuver through the defense. Celso Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademir Veloso having to interfere. Natanael Esteves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Digo Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Natanael Esteves might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Digo Velasco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Natanael Esteves ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 87th match minute, Capuaba SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Vale to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute Arlindo Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ademir Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arlindo Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Maragipinho EC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Capuaba SS's performance. The match ended with a win for Capuaba SS.
