After 16 minutes of play, Benevolencia EC's Alex Mangueira made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernão Castro was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Genílson de Brito got free with Fernão Castro in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cadozinho SS's Pedrinho Peixoto got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernão Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Pedrinho Peixoto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hamílton Neves was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedrinho Peixoto in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hamílton Neves saved Benevolencia EC from getting behind. In the 38th minute, Benevolencia EC's Alex Mangueira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. 48 minutes into the match, Benevolencia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho Peixoto came free, but Hamílton Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedrinho Peixoto to make the kick off. Fernão Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benevolencia EC's Hamílton Neves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Benevolencia EC from getting a goal against them. After 74 minutes, Cafu Guerra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cadozinho SS and the Benevolencia EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th match minute, Cadozinho SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cafu Guerra to maneuver through the defense. With 76 minutes on the clock, Francisco Figueiredo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 75 minutes into the game, one of Cadozinho SS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Fernão Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Mangueira in the 87th minute of play. When Válter Mandrak came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Benevolencia EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válter Mandrak couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Benevolencia EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cadozinho SS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
