If Christiano Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisinho Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Christiano Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sangradouro AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Christiano Paraibano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Gameleira booed when Sangradouro AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidnei Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Teles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Gláuber Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cacá Saraiva succeeded in the game's 57th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0.
