The audience thought a goal was coming when Toninho de Senna got free with Paulo Maciel in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paulo Maciel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Schmidt in the 15th minute of the match. Armando de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Armando de Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pombos SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando de Carvalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Carlos Trancoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Marau AD booed when Pombos SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the game, Júlio Schmidt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Paulo Maciel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
