The Leiu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Maurício Cosme was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 9th minute. Leiu's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Orlando Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Orlando Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurício Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Luís Gustavo Quaresma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Orlando Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Basilio AD defense, Orlando Araújo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Gustavo Quaresma. The Basilio AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Gustavo Quaresma should have stopped the shot. In the 46thth minute of the game Leandro Soeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leiu's Celsinho Teles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Maurício Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 56th minute, Reynaldo Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Leandro Soeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celsinho Teles was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. The supporters of Leiu booed when Basilio AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maurício Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. After a rather tough play, Basilio AD's Natanael Jacinto got a free kick in the 81st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Leiu's zone, Leandro Soeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celsinho Teles came out of the goal and Leandro Soeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zé Paulo Saldanha hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute Leandro Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celsinho Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leiu walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
