A collision led to Escolvado getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ediberto Barros hit a great ball. Augusto Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fábio Souto having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Sandro Araújo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 83rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. One of Escolvado:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sidnelson007:s goal. In the 86th minute there was a penalty for Sidnelson007.
