But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodolfo Leão couldn't finish the play. 10 minutes into the match, Domingos FC's Wilton Dias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomás Abraão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tomás Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Leão in the 13th minute of play. Rodolfo Leão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. The Espinosa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Abraão should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sílvio Leão got free with Doni Mendes in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Frank Paraense fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Domingos FC's protests and gave Frank Paraense a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Domingos FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Espinosa a penalty, 27 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Betão Perez, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Domingos FC's Doni Mendes. 1-1. Doni Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magno Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the game, Inácio Prata was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Domingos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Espinosa the free kick. After a rather tough play, Domingos FC's Inácio Prata got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Espinosa's Magno Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Juninho Vianna fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Domingos FC's protests and gave Juninho Vianna a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes Domingos FC got a freekick which was hit by Juninho Vianna. Rodolfo Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Abraão having to interfere. Doni Mendes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Magno Branco's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. When Magno Branco came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Espinosa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Magno Branco couldn't finish the play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Magno Branco to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Nilson Figueiredo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Espinosa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Domingos FC the free kick. The supporters of Domingos FC booed when Espinosa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilson Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Rodolfo Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toninho Mendes in the 74th minute of play forced Domingos FC's goalkeeper Doni Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Leão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Tomás Abraão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rodolfo Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Tomás Abraão was out of position in the 87 minute of play, and Wilton Dias capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Wilton Dias really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Juninho Vianna was shown his second yellow card after 90 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Toninho Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Doni Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Espinosa booed when Domingos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Domingos FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
