Magno Branco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vitinho Veiga came out and tried to block the shot, but Magno Branco slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 5th minute. In the 9th minute of the match Vágner Soares shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomás Abraão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Yan Alagoano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomás Abraão was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Coutinho in the 16th minute of play forced Espinosa's goalkeeper Tomás Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomás Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júnior Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Didi Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cacá Correia kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Yan Alagoano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Magno Branco made a kick off. In the 54th minute Toninho Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitinho Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitinho Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magno Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. If Magno Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Cornelios's Didi Paulista got a free kick in the 60th minute. Toninho Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Vitinho Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vitinho Veiga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Magno Branco's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. After 64 minutes, João Adolfo Quadros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cornelios and the Espinosa players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Espinosa getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Túlio Tasso hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Yan Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cornelios's supporters rose to their feet, but Yan Alagoano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomás Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Toninho Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitinho Veiga having to interfere. Cornelios's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by João Pedro Recife in the 81st minute. After taking down the ball on Cornelios's corner João Pedro Recife fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tomás Abraão quite easily take care of the ball.
