Bernardinho de Mendonça was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Reginaldo Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho de Mendonça having to interfere. Natã Cunha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Hortêncio Arruda skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 25th minute, Clóvis Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernardinho de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reginaldo Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vitoria's Adilson Melo got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd match minute, Vitoria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natã Cunha to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Adilson Melo made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Tiquarucu's goal looked a bit too open when Natã Cunha came free, but Hortêncio Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardinho de Mendonça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernardo Silveira in the 55th minute. Natã Cunha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Conrado Sanches had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hortêncio Arruda. Tiquarucu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Conrado Sanches was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Bernardinho de Mendonça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernardo Silveira in the 62nd minute. Reginaldo Leão might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bernardinho de Mendonça. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reginaldo Leão ran back to his position shaking his head. Doni Macedo's late challenge caught a Vitoria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doni Macedo helped the player get up and apologised. Reginaldo Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute Pedro Augusto Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hortêncio Arruda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Natã Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Hortêncio Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Adilson Melo came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Vitoria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adilson Melo couldn't finish the play. In the 83rd minute, Natã Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Natã Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Adilson Melo came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Vitoria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adilson Melo couldn't finish the play.
