The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Remo Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvério Baiano in the 2nd minute of the match. If Rubens Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rubens Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Tesourinha EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubens Paiva couldn't finish the play. Marco Albuquerque made an important save on a dangerous shot by Túlio Mangueira in the 8th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Jeremias Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cabreiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremias Braga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Albuquerque breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeremias Braga might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marco Albuquerque. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeremias Braga ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubens Paiva in the 24th minute of play forced Cabreiro's goalkeeper Remo Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 28 minutes of play, Tesourinha EC's Rubens Paiva made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Remo Neves was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Túlio Mangueira got free with Marco Albuquerque in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 36 minutes into the match, Tesourinha EC's goalkeeper Marco Albuquerque had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Túlio Mangueira. 41 minutes into the match, Jeremias Braga dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marco Albuquerque, 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Tesourinha EC's zone, Jeremias Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Albuquerque came out of the goal and Jeremias Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rubens Paiva was the one to do the kick off. Silvério Baiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remo Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Jeremias Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Tesourinha EC's Lino Arce got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Jeremias Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Marco Albuquerque tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marco Albuquerque showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremias Braga in the 71st minute of the match. Tesourinha EC's Marco Albuquerque played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Túlio Mangueira in the 75th minute of play. Jeremias Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 78 played minutes Tesourinha EC got a freekick which was hit by Lino Arce. 83 minutes into the match, Cabreiro's Jeremias Braga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marco Albuquerque narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Silvério Baiano spun around in front of the goal 85 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Cabreiro's goal. 86 minutes into the game, Leonel de Azevedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cabreiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tesourinha EC the free kick. In the 86th minute, Leonel de Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeremias Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th match minute, Tesourinha EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Guilherme Rosado to maneuver through the defense. Marco Albuquerque took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Braga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cabreiro were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
