The tension between the Jambeiro and the Jureia SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 17 minutes into the match, Jureia SC's Romário Pitta broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jureia SC's Amadeu Abreu got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amadeu Abreu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Maurício Travassos made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amadeu Abreu in the 23rd minute of play forced Jambeiro's goalkeeper Maurício Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amadeu Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Maurício Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tibúrcio Baiano kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Vivaldo Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jureia SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vivaldo Lago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurício Travassos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maurício Travassos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amadeu Abreu's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Gláuber Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulisses Madureira in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Vivaldo Lago made a precise shot to the right of Maurício Travassos. Jambeiro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amadeu Abreu in the 41st minute of play forced Jambeiro's goalkeeper Maurício Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amadeu Abreu to make the kick off. A collision led to Jambeiro getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Frederico da Fonseca hit a great ball. Vivaldo Lago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jureia SC's Gláuber Madureira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Jureia SC from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Jureia SC's Arthur do Nascimento got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 67th minute, Jardel Dracena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vivaldo Lago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurício Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vivaldo Lago in the 72nd minute of play. Gláuber Madureira made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Ulisses Madureira sent off a good shot on target. Vivaldo Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 78 minutes, Betinho Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jureia SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betinho Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Jambeiro getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Luciano Baiano hit a great ball. Jureia SC's Amadeu Abreu got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
