Mariano Eduino struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Gláuber Madureira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. Travinha. Jens-Erik Larsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeu Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Eduino got free with Gláuber Madureira in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Armindo Guedes's late challenge caught a C.A. Travinha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armindo Guedes helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vivaldo Lago in the 40th minute of play forced C.A. Travinha's goalkeeper Jens-Erik Larsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vivaldo Lago in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jens-Erik Larsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 43 minutes into the match, Nelson Domingues dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gláuber Madureira, 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mariano Eduino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gláuber Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Arantes in the 61st minute of play. Miguel Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nelson Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Gláuber Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. C.A. Travinha's Jens-Erik Larsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save C.A. Travinha from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vivaldo Lago got free with Jens-Erik Larsson in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vivaldo Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens-Erik Larsson having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Jureia SC's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Arantes came free, but Gláuber Madureira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute, Giovanni Gaúcho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
