In the 31st minute, Nicolas Catarinense sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Salmorao's Thiago Valladares didn't even have to move. In the 33rd minute, Pedro Augusto Saldanha fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Zé Roberto Cordeiro, passed just outside the right post. Zé Roberto Cordeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Augusto Saldanha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 2-0 became the score in the 38th minute when Richard Vale elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 46 minutes into the game, Richard Vale cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Zé Roberto Cordeiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Linhares to make the kick off. Paulo José Meirelles might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Roberto Cordeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo José Meirelles ran back to his position shaking his head. Zé Roberto Cordeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Vale in the 53rd minute of play. Cocelinho SC's Zé Roberto Cordeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Vale in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cocelinho SC's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Cordeiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Richard Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Roberto Cordeiro having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cocelinho SC's Christiano Rocha got a free kick in the 61st minute. After 63 played minutes Cocelinho SC got a freekick which was hit by Sidney Paraíba. In the 71st play minute Clóvis de Souza came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Thiago Valladares. 3-1. If Richard Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eliézer Simão during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 played minutes Salmorao got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Simão. 88 minutes into the match, Salmorao's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Linhares came free, but Thiago Valladares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
