Rafael Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Brasil having to interfere. Ulysses Brasil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rafael Cerezo's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. In the 18th match minute, Quevedos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ediberto da Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. Ediberto da Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Rafael Cerezo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ulysses Brasil having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafael Cerezo in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulysses Brasil saved Quevedos from getting behind. After having played for 39 minutes, Régis de Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vila Nova Prudy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Régis de Medeiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rafael Cerezo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ulysses Brasil having to make a save. After 47 minutes, Rafael Cerezo made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Quevedos's Ulysses Brasil tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafael Cerezo was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Cerezo got free with Ulysses Brasil in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
