Serafim Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osvaldo Sá's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dudu Massa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Villa Juniores F.C.'s Osvaldo Sá got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Villa Juniores F.C.'s Serafim Oliveira got a free kick in the 38th minute. Carlos Eduardo Paulista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amauri Correia made a kick off. If Sílvio Saraiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 64 minutes, Carlos Eduardo Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villa Juniores F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Eduardo Paulista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Icacu FC defense, Carlos Eduardo Paulista kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dudu Massa. The Icacu FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dudu Massa should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Icacu FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Elói Hames hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the match, Icacu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Sá came free, but Dudu Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute, Amauri Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rômulo Tavares stood somewhat misplaced when Amauri Correia came free in front of goal and shot 3-1 to the left of him in the 80 minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Nestor Vidal kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rômulo Tavares. That made the score 3-2 in the 84 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Eduardo Paulista in the 91st minute of play forced Icacu FC's goalkeeper Dudu Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nilmar Ferreira hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
