Donatello Zonta came out of the goal and Eugênio Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donatello Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Genílson Sanches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 26 minutes of play, Baiao's Eugênio Bueno made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Donatello Zonta was left in no man's land by his defense there! When César Trigo fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bandeirantes SC's protests and gave César Trigo a yellow card for diving instead. César Trigo hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Baiao's Víktor Abraão took a good shot, in the 33rd minute, which hit the crossbar above Donatello Zonta's head, and flew over the goal. Bandeirantes SC's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Baiao. José Pedro Vieira hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute of the match Váldson Zonta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Donatello Zonta skillfully saved the ball. In the 44th minute Silvinho Velloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donatello Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christian Magalhães showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Donatello Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genílson Sanches in the 84th minute of play. If Zacarias Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Bueno in the 93rd minute of play forced Bandeirantes SC's goalkeeper Donatello Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
