Baltazar Moura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredão Novaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Baltazar Moura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredão Novaes in the 7th minute of play. If Alfredão Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. Serginho Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Moura having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Adolfo Catarinense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 20th minute, Raphael Toscano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Luís Mangueira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 25 minutes into the match, Restingua EC's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredão Novaes came free, but Baltazar Moura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gil Xavier kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Alfredão Novaes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Itacutiu booed when Restingua EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. Itacutiu's Alfredão Novaes got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Serginho Ferreira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Baltazar Moura having to make a save. In the 48th minute Emerson Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltazar Moura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adolfo Catarinense to make the kick off. If Alfredão Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Raphael Toscano made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Luís Mangueira. Itacutiu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Restingua EC's Adolfo Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Itacutiu's Pedro Luís Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raphael Toscano in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredão Novaes in the 87th minute of play forced Restingua EC's goalkeeper Baltazar Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Itacutiu's Emerson Guedes got his second yellow card of the match in the 92nd minute. The referee ordered Emerson Guedes off the ground. The supporters of Restingua EC booed when Itacutiu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emerson Guedes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Raphael Toscano came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Restingua EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raphael Toscano couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Restingua EC had won after a very even match.
