The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Jacioba SC's zone, Otávio Campidelis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hílton Carvalho came out of the goal and Otávio Campidelis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Alberto Montenegro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernardo Brodel went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Bernardo Brodel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Alberto Montenegro was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Carlos Alberto Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabino Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Donatello Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Bernardo Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Carlos Alberto Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the game, Jacioba SC's Sabino Mendes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Alberto Montenegro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 39 minutes into the game, João Pedro Guedes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jacioba SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inhapim EC the free kick. In the 39th match minute, Jacioba SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Pedro Guedes to maneuver through the defense. Jacioba SC's Hílton Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otávio Campidelis in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Brodel in the 43rd minute of play forced Inhapim EC's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute Bernardo Brodel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Alberto Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 played minutes Inhapim EC got a freekick which was hit by Romário Zanette.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Otávio Campidelis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Jacioba SC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Sabino Mendes hit a great ball. Bernardo Brodel might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Alberto Montenegro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bernardo Brodel ran back to his position shaking his head. João Pedro Guedes was shown his second yellow card after 62 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Inhapim EC booed when Jacioba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Pedro Guedes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renato Ferraz, 63 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Raphael Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sabino Mendes in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Carlos Alberto Montenegro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jacioba SC's Sabino Mendes got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Jacioba SC's Raphael Brasil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Alberto Montenegro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hílton Carvalho came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Inhapim EC's Raphael Corrêa. But to his dismay, Raphael Corrêa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Hílton Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otávio Campidelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
