Vertentes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dedê Arruda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 14th match minute, Suinauma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Veloso to maneuver through the defense. Dedê Arruda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Zézinho Amaral made a huge save. Suinauma's Dedê Arruda got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Vertentes booed when Suinauma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 22 minutes, Luiz Gustavo Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Suinauma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Gustavo Mello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute, Luiz Gustavo Mello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dedê Arruda who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Zézinho Amaral when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 30 minutes into the match, Vertentes's goalkeeper Zézinho Amaral had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dedê Arruda. Vertentes's Zézinho Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Gustavo Mello in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Garcia in the 32nd minute of play forced Suinauma's goalkeeper Willian Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zézinho Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo Mello in the 45th minute of play. Luiz Gustavo Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Gustavo Mello stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luiz Gustavo Mello blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zézinho Amaral having to make a save. If Luiz Gustavo Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruno Garcia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Willian Mesquita made a huge save. Suinauma's Dedê Arruda got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zézinho Amaral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Gustavo Mello went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Vertentes booed when Suinauma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Umberto Veloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bruno Garcia struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Willian Mesquita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vertentes. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruno Garcia got free with Willian Mesquita in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bruno Garcia succeeded in the game's 92nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1.
