With a left leg Amadeu Marques saved Pari SC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guto Mesquita in the 19th minute of play forced Pari SC's goalkeeper Amadeu Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Fernando Faustino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dênis Galvão having to interfere. In the 27th match minute, Anori FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Cássio Tavares was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 27th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 45th minute, Carlos Fernando Faustino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Guto Mesquita made the kick off in the second half. When Osvaldo Sabóia fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Zé Roberto Amaral kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Amadeu Marques. That made the score 0-1 in the 82 minute of play. Renato Chaves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
