After 3 minutes, Almir Garcia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cambuis SC and the Gustavo AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Cambuis SC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Almir Garcia hit a great ball. In the 7th minute, Roger Tróia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Léo Garcia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 13th minute, Felipe Faria ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfredinho Martins was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Basílio Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Gustavo AD's zone, Basílio Nogueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Léo Garcia came out of the goal and Basílio Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute, Chicão Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vinícius Neto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfredinho Martins having to make a save. In the 40th minute Vinícius Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredinho Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sílvio Luís Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vinícius Neto to make the kick off. Cambuis SC's Alfredinho Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinícius Neto in the 58th minute of play. After 59 played minutes Cambuis SC got a freekick which was hit by Enéas Arruda. Felipe Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes into the game, Vinícius Neto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gustavo AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cambuis SC the free kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Cambuis SC's Magno Jacinto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Léo Garcia. That made the score 1-2 after 65 minutes of play. A hard shot 69 in the game by Basílio Nogueira from a close distance when the talented Léo Garcia managed to make a qualified save. Gustavo AD's players were relieved. Vinícius Neto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfredinho Martins having to make a save. If Felipe Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 77 minutes, Vinícius Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gustavo AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vinícius Neto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 80 minutes of play, Gustavo AD's Vinícius Neto made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredinho Martins was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Cambuis SC's Magno Jacinto in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gustavo AD's goalie prevented a goal. After 86 minutes Gustavo AD's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Antônio Carlos Urbano who took care of the corner kick. Simão Melo was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. A collision led to Gustavo AD getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Chicão Neto hit a great ball. In the 90th minute Magno Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Felipe Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vinícius Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despite being the better team, Gustavo AD failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
