In the 6th minute there was a penalty for Cacimba. Oséias de Medeiros stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Júlio de Toledo. 0-1. 10 minutes into the game, Umberto Falcão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Eriberto Perez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Romeu Saraiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Júlio de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cacimba's goalkeeper Eriberto Perez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 23rd minute Joel de Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Carlos Pimenta hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. If Joel de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 30 minutes, Umberto Falcão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Umberto Falcão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Umberto Falcão got free with Eriberto Perez in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 35th match minute, Acara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Víktor Damião charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Víktor Damião the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 44th minute, Víktor Damião hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Jaime da Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cacimba's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime da Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio de Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Umberto Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeu Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jaime da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio de Toledo having to interfere. Joel de Almeida scored 2-1 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eriberto Perez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 65 minutes into the match, Cacimba's goal looked a bit too open when Joel de Almeida came free, but Eriberto Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Joel de Almeida notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Cacimba's Eriberto Perez. Eriberto Perez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jaime da Rocha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Júlio de Toledo made a huge save. Joel de Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Umberto Falcão blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eriberto Perez having to make a save. Víktor Damião hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Acara's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
