The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee felt a red card was in order, 35 minutes into the game, when Flávio Paiva put in a rough tackle. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cipool SS! The goalkeeper, Almir Machado, was totally fooled by Jofre's Alexsandro Prestes, who 36 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 42 minutes into the match, Cipool SS's goalkeeper Almir Machado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dedê Mattos. Almir Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Augusto Vasconcelos in the 54th minute of play. Almir Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Augusto Freire in the 56th minute of the match. Almir Machado came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Jofre's Carlos Augusto Freire. But to his dismay, Carlos Augusto Freire quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After 62 played minutes Cipool SS got a freekick which was hit by Dé de Azevedo. Carlos Augusto Freire kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Almir Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexsandro Prestes in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexsandro Prestes in the 73rd minute of play forced Cipool SS's goalkeeper Almir Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Augusto Vasconcelos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almir Machado having to interfere. The Jofre fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when Jofre's Alexsandro Prestes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Almir Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovani Pernambucano in the 83rd minute of the match. Carlos Augusto Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Augusto Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Almir Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Jofre's Dedê Mattos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Almir Machado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Jofre fully deserved thier win.
