The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 5 minutes into the match, Heraclito's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Sena came free, but Gino Cearense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leopoldo Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armindo Pontes in the 13th minute of play forced Brasitania SS's goalkeeper Carlos Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nildo Batista charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nildo Batista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Berger showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Leopoldo Pereira came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Heraclito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopoldo Pereira couldn't finish the play. In the 28th minute Armindo Pontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Berger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Nildo Batista was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 28 minutes had been played. The supporters of Heraclito booed when Brasitania SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nildo Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brasitania SS's supporters rose to their feet, but João Carlos Mandrak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gino Cearense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Humberto Sena struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Gino Cearense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brasitania SS. After some careless play in the Heraclito defense, João Carlos Mandrak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gino Cearense. The Heraclito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gino Cearense should have stopped the shot. João Carlos Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Cearense having to interfere. After having played for 75 minutes, Humberto Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brasitania SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Joaquim Brodel fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brasitania SS's protests and gave Joaquim Brodel a yellow card for diving instead. Joaquim Brodel kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Carlos Mandrak in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gino Cearense saved Heraclito from getting behind. After 87 minutes, Sílvio Luís Dias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heraclito and the Brasitania SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Brasitania SS booed when Heraclito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio Luís Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Murilo Braga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
