The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Armindo Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Kapiting EC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Duda Amaral hit a great ball. Sílvio Luís Dias was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 8th minute. Heraclito's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. César Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Leopoldo Pereira sent off a good shot on target. Guilherme Carvalho took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gino Cearense. Gino Cearense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Leopoldo Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kapiting EC's César Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armindo Pontes in the 26th minute of play. In the 30th match minute, Kapiting EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerônimo Vides to maneuver through the defense. Armindo Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gino Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme Carvalho in the 37th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Kapiting EC's Dráuzio Cearense got a free kick in the 39th minute. Rômulo Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Cearense having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armindo Pontes to make the kick off. If Armindo Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes into the match, Heraclito's goalkeeper Gino Cearense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rômulo Pinheiro. Bernardinho Souto made a great header on Heraclito's corner, it was just that Kapiting EC's César Mendonça managed to reach the ball for a save. Leopoldo Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 63rd minute, Armindo Pontes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Heraclito fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 67th minute, Duda Amaral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 68 minutes, Reinaldo Terra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heraclito and the Kapiting EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Kapiting EC booed when Heraclito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reinaldo Terra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armindo Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Heraclito's Leopoldo Pereira in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With an extended leg and a bit of luck César Mendonça prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Armindo Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Heraclito's Armindo Pontes got a free kick in the 84th minute. If Leopoldo Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kapiting EC's César Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armindo Pontes in the 91st minute of play. Sílvio Luís Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 96th minute Armindo Pontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but César Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armindo Pontes in the 97th minute of play forced Kapiting EC's goalkeeper César Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heraclito's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bernardinho Souto in the 99th minute. After taking down the ball on Heraclito's corner Bernardinho Souto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and César Mendonça quite easily take care of the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
