Brasitania SS's Carlos Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovanni Pitta in the 5th minute of play. José Pedro Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Berger having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Brasitania SS's zone, José Pedro Botelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Berger came out of the goal and José Pedro Botelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Luizão Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cristal's supporters rose to their feet, but Luizão Arce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Berger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristal's José Pedro Botelho got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nildo Batista's late challenge caught a Cristal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nildo Batista helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Brasitania SS getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Nildo Batista hit a great ball. After 15 played minutes Brasitania SS got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Sena. After 18 played minutes Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Luizão Arce. Luizão Arce was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 25th minute. Cristal's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Brasitania SS's Carlos Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovanni Pitta in the 29th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serafim Tasso during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 40 minutes into the match, Murilo Braga notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cristal's Jaime Tinoco. Jaime Tinoco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 74th minute, Luizão Arce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Berger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizão Arce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Pedro Botelho struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Carlos Berger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cristal. The audience was convinced that Luizão Arce's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Berger was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Brasitania SS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cristal:s goal. In the 82nd minute there was a penalty for Cristal. Serafim Tasso stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Carlos Berger. 2-1. Luizão Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the game, Joaquim Brodel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brasitania SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cristal the free kick. In the 89th match minute, Brasitania SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Brodel to maneuver through the defense. When Cristal's Luizão Arce in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
