Cristal's Jaime Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Pereira in the 2nd minute of play. Giovanni Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Gino Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erivaldo Catarinense got free with Gino Cearense in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 14 minutes into the game, Cristal's Dadá Saldanha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gino Cearense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Jaime Tinoco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Cristal's Luizão Arce nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gino Cearense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Luizão Arce put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Gino Cearense. Jaime Tinoco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Armindo Pontes went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Erivaldo Catarinense scored 4-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gino Cearense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Erivaldo Catarinense hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute, Leopoldo Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giovanni Pitta in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gino Cearense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th minute, Sílvio Luís Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Heraclito's Gino Cearense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Heraclito from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armindo Pontes in the 44th minute of play forced Cristal's goalkeeper Jaime Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-1 at half-time.

In the 51st minute, Armindo Pontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Benê Fantini fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cristal's protests and gave Benê Fantini a yellow card for diving instead. Benê Fantini hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After having played for 56 minutes, Bernardinho Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Heraclito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardinho Souto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Cristal's goalkeeper Jaime Tinoco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Pereira. If Luizão Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erivaldo Catarinense in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gino Cearense saved Heraclito from getting behind. 69 minutes into the match, Heraclito's goal looked a bit too open when Luizão Arce came free, but Gino Cearense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Pedro Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Cearense having to interfere. After 71 played minutes Heraclito got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luís Dias. After a defensive mix-up in Heraclito's zone, Giovanni Pitta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gino Cearense came out of the goal and Giovanni Pitta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tostão Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gino Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erivaldo Catarinense in the 83rd minute of the match. If Giovanni Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Luizão Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luizão Arce in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gino Cearense saved Heraclito from getting behind. When the referee ended the match the Cristal players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
