In the 16thth minute of the game Fernandinho Tróia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tapuias EC's Hortêncio Velasco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Manuel Goiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Hortêncio Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilton Rosado in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hortêncio Velasco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Wilton Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ciro Mandrak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wellington Nogueira in the 33rd minute. Hortêncio Velasco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernandinho Tróia's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Ernani Ribeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hortêncio Velasco. Tapuias EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernani Ribeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Hortêncio Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernani Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The Tapuias EC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Golden Boys were winning 0-4.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernani Ribeiro in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hortêncio Velasco saved Tapuias EC from getting behind. In the 54th match minute, Tapuias EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Madureira to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Tapuias EC's Hortêncio Velasco got control of the ball when Manuel Goiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Golden Boys's Ciro Mandrak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Vinhas in the 58th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Manuel Goiano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hortêncio Velasco. Tapuias EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manuel Goiano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilton Rosado got free with Hortêncio Velasco in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
