Grajau AD's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Erasmo Cabral came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Grajau AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erasmo Cabral couldn't finish the play. 24 minutes into the match, Santanna's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Cunha came free, but Arí Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 25 played minutes Grajau AD got a freekick which was hit by Umberto Novaes. If Benjamim Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the game, Júlio Cunha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grajau AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santanna the free kick. A collision led to Grajau AD getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. One of Grajau AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Santanna:s goal. Guga Paraense shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erasmo Cabral to make the kick off. Ronaldinho de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Santanna's goal looked a bit too open when Erasmo Cabral came free, but Arí Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Gonçalves in the 60th minute of play forced Grajau AD's goalkeeper Ronaldinho de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Laerte Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Benjamim Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorival Paulista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. In the 84th minute, Laerte Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ronaldinho de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Ronaldinho de Medeiros was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Dorival Paulista capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal.
