Albertinho Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gláuber Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltazar da Rocha in the 10th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baltazar da Rocha in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gláuber Leite prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Fernandez during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 13th match minute, Igarapiuna EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. Albertinho Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anselmo Bastos charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anselmo Bastos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Igarapiuna EC booed when Gomão EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Andrézinho Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertinho Camargo in the 23rd minute of play forced Igarapiuna EC's goalkeeper Gláuber Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th match minute, Gomão EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléberson Pirani to maneuver through the defense. Dênis Ceresso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Baltazar da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gláuber Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltazar da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gláuber Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltazar da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Gláuber Leite came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Gomão EC's Albertinho Camargo. But to his dismay, Albertinho Camargo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dênis Ceresso to make the kick off. Baltazar da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Leite having to interfere. Baltazar da Rocha struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Gláuber Leite didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gomão EC. Baltazar da Rochas short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Gláuber Leite to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gláuber Leite made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Baltazar da Rocha sent off a good shot on target. Moisés Meira hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. When Andrézinho Urbano fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Igarapiuna EC's protests and gave Andrézinho Urbano a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Igarapiuna EC's Andrézinho Urbano got a free kick in the 87th minute. Andrézinho Urbano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 95 minutes, Baltazar da Rocha made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Igarapiuna EC's Gláuber Leite tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gomão EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
