The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Carvalho having to interfere. Claudinei Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kléberson de Toledo in the 7th minute of the match. Kléberson de Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Carvalho having to interfere. Manaus AD's Claudinei Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Haas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After some careless play in the Manaus AD defense, Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudinei Carvalho. The Manaus AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudinei Carvalho should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudinei Carvalho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th minute, Kléberson de Toledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kléberson de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Claudinei Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36thth minute of the game Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Manaus AD's Claudinei Carvalho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Claudinei Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléberson de Toledo in the 37th minute of play. Serafim de Carvalho charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Serafim de Carvalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Carvalho having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Evandro Faria to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nildo Linares during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 51 played minutes Manaus AD got a freekick which was hit by Nildo Linares. In the 52nd minute of the match Sidney Maranhense shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Claudinei Carvalho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kléberson de Toledo in the 53rd minute of play forced Manaus AD's goalkeeper Claudinei Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59th play minutes Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Claudinei Carvalho and just under the crossbar into goal. 63 minutes into the match, Manaus AD's goalkeeper Claudinei Carvalho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho de Medeiros in the 65th minute of play forced Haas's goalkeeper Válbson das Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Haas getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Serafim de Carvalho hit a great ball. If Evandro Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Válbson das Neves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evandro Faria's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. In the 76th match minute, Haas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aníbal Leme to maneuver through the defense. When Nildo Linares was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 80 minutes had been played. In the 81st minute, Nildo Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the game, Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Claudinei Carvalho. Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Claudinei Carvalho was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kléberson de Toledo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 90 minute of play.
