Didi Sampaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson Prestes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilson Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Didi Sampaio having to interfere. Wanderson Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdo Vides, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Wanderson Figueiredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdo Vides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Acácio Freitas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wanderson Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Acácio Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Valdo Vides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Wanderson Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Lavrinha's goal looked a bit too open when Valdo Vides came free, but Wanderson Figueiredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Lavrinha defense, Acácio Freitas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wanderson Figueiredo. The Lavrinha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wanderson Figueiredo should have stopped the shot.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valdo Vides to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Claudinho Braga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristóvão Ramalho kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After 55 played minutes Lavrinha got a freekick which was hit by Rubens Andrade. If Acácio Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Prado hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Gilson Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Didi Sampaio having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Caresalzinho SC's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Braga came free, but Didi Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gilson Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Didi Sampaio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudinho Braga's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Caresalzinho SC's zone, Claudinho Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Didi Sampaio came out of the goal and Claudinho Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 85th minute, Valdo Vides got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gilson Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Didi Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Gilson Prestes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilson Prestes in the 93rd minute of play forced Caresalzinho SC's goalkeeper Didi Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristóvão Ramalho hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The Caresalzinho SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Caresalzinho SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
