Júnior Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eurico Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Eunapolitano FC booed when Felicidade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jefferson Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelinho Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugênio Massa in the 18th minute of the match. If Almir Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Almir Pereira got free with Júnior Paiva in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jefferson Cruz's late challenge caught a Eunapolitano FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jefferson Cruz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Felicidade getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Jefferson Cruz hit a great ball. Leonel Peres took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Júnior Paiva. Júnior Paiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Massa in the 40th minute of play forced Eunapolitano FC's goalkeeper Marcelinho Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th match minute, Eunapolitano FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonel Peres to maneuver through the defense. The Felicidade fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Júnior Paiva should have stopped the shot. If Silas Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Silas Meira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Júnior Paiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Almir Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
