The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luís Paulo Lago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gláuber Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Jatobazinho booed when Colinas AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldinho Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th play minute Joel Netto came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Emanuel Torres. 1-0. Joel Netto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Torres having to interfere. Joel Netto spun around in front of the goal 38 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Colinas AD's goal. Joel Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Emanuel Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Jatobazinho's Joel Netto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emanuel Torres narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Gláuber Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Netto was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Jatobazinho got a freekick which was hit by Benê Mandrak. After having played for 57 minutes, Joel Netto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jatobazinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Netto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Joel Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gláuber Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Paulo Lago having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Ernani Arósio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Paulo Lago. Jatobazinho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernani Arósio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Joel Netto put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Emanuel Torres. 88 minutes into the match, Colinas AD's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Netto came free, but Emanuel Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 91 minutes, Rubinho de Queirós mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Colinas AD and the Jatobazinho players grew even worse after the yellow card.
