Nuno Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Brodel, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Raimundo Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Barreto having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Raimundo Brodel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nuno Barreto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Cristóvão Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Washington Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After some careless play in the Atenas FC defense, Raimundo Brodel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nuno Barreto. The Atenas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nuno Barreto should have stopped the shot. Cristóvão Velloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Célio Carneiro in the 20th minute. Raimundo Brodel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Washington Meirelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Camuscada SC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Aírton Peixoto hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Atenas FC's Durvalino da Silveira broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Raimundo Brodel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raimundo Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Barreto having to interfere. Nuno Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Brodel, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Célio Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Cristóvão Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Samuca Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raimundo Brodel to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Rodriguinho Dionísio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Camuscada SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atenas FC the free kick. In the 56th minute, Rodriguinho Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Washington Meirelles got free in front of the goal in the 59th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Cristóvão Velloso was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Camuscada SC's attack was well implemented in the 61st minute, but when Délio Bittencourt was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. 63 minutes into the match, Atenas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Brodel came free, but Nuno Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Brodel in the 65th minute of play forced Atenas FC's goalkeeper Nuno Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Délio Bittencourt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Nuno Barreto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Atenas FC's Nuno Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Brodel in the 69th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Camuscada SC's Raimundo Brodel slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nuno Barreto. That made the score 0-3 after 70 minutes of play. 80 minutes into the match, Atenas FC's goalkeeper Nuno Barreto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Délio Bittencourt. 82 minutes into the game, Camuscada SC's Raimundo Brodel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nuno Barreto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Nuno Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
