Arlindo Andrade charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 26th minute of the match Dedê de Andrade sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Guilherme Matos skillfully saved the ball. In the 28th minute, Tarcisio Bittencourt fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Gil Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
