Setembrinha's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Wágner Zanette 4 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Afonso Meira got free with Kaká Fontes in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Afonso Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. With a little luck, Setembrinha's Kaká Fontes got control of the ball when Afonso Meira tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Quaracu booed when Setembrinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilton Lago didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Setembrinha defense, Afonso Meira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kaká Fontes. The Setembrinha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kaká Fontes should have stopped the shot. In the 27th minute, Wágner Zanette ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kaká Fontes was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. 37 minutes into the match, Wilton Lago had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Betão Maia. Quaracu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilton Lago was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Setembrinha's Kaká Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wágner Zanette in the 44th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The wind increased when Wágner Zanette made the kick off in the second half. After 57 minutes, Osvaldo Prestes made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Quaracu's Betão Maia tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Artur Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Betão Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Quaracu's Betão Maia got control of the ball when Osvaldo Prestes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Afonso Meira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kaká Fontes having to make a save. Wilton Lago might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Betão Maia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilton Lago ran back to his position shaking his head. Setembrinha's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
