Rubens Torres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aírton Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Dorian Leme's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 9thth minute, Aírton Toledo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Andrézinho Cavalcante charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Márcio Leite to strike the kick off in the second half. Carapo's Rubens Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee gave Carapo a penalty, 76 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sílvio Damião, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of 17 de Novembro's Aírton Toledo. 2-1. The supporters of Carapo booed when 17 de Novembro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robinho Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Rubens Torres came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Carapo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubens Torres couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute, Márcio Leite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 96 played minutes Carapo got a freekick which was hit by Adalmo Paraense. Rubens Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Carapo booed when 17 de Novembro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorival Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Carapo support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
