The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualter Barros in the 10th minute of play forced Sepultura FC's goalkeeper Joel Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sepultura FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pejucara the free kick. Pejucara's Luizão Silva couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 29th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sepultura FC. After 36 played minutes Pejucara got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Eduardo Paraense. Sepultura FC's Willian Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hernani Soeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willian Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giovani Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Gualter Barros made the kick off in the second half. Albertino de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Soeiro having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Pejucara's goal looked a bit too open when Willian Machado came free, but Hernani Soeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willian Machado in the 64th minute of play forced Pejucara's goalkeeper Hernani Soeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute, Willian Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Willian Machado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hernani Soeiro was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. In the 86th minute, Giovani Rossi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joel Dias was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. In the 90th minute Willian Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernani Soeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Albertino de Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Sepultura FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albertino de Azevedo couldn't finish the play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
