Araruna EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Verde the free kick. 5 minutes into the match, Araruna EC's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Queiroz came free, but Dráuzio de Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emílio Queiroz in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dráuzio de Toledo saved Araruna EC from getting behind. Zé Carlos Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eliézer Jacinto's late challenge caught a Araruna EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliézer Jacinto helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Verde's Eliézer Jacinto got a free kick in the 10th minute. Emílio Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Dráuzio de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Verde's Emílio Queiroz in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Araruna EC's goalie prevented a goal. Zé Carlos Fernandez ran back to his position shaking his head. Guto Goiano's late challenge caught a Verde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guto Goiano helped the player get up and apologised. 45 minutes into the match, Araruna EC's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Carlos Fernandez came free, but Dráuzio de Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute Emílio Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráuzio de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emílio Queiroz in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dráuzio de Toledo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilvan de Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zé Carlos Fernandez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dráuzio de Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Araruna EC's Dráuzio de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emílio Queiroz in the 59th minute of play. Emílio Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Dráuzio de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cacá de Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verde's protests and gave Cacá de Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. Araruna EC's Dráuzio de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emílio Queiroz in the 68th minute of play. The supporters of Araruna EC booed when Verde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emílio Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Carlos Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82ndth minute of the game Emílio Queiroz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Araruna EC's Dráuzio de Toledo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edgar Sabóia's late challenge caught a Verde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgar Sabóia helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Araruna EC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Edgar Sabóia hit a great ball. Gilvan de Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Sá having to interfere. Armandinho Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaristo Saraiva in the 87th minute of play. If Emílio Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Verde were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
