Luiz Eduardo Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauan Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. A collision led to Gueto SC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Vito Vieira hit a great ball. If Nelsinho Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vito Vieira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Clóvis Peixoto having to make a save. After 37 minutes, Abelardo Hames mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gueto SC and the Macacu SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thiago Tasso charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thiago Tasso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gueto SC's Thiago Tasso got a free kick in the 41st minute. Nelsinho Brodel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luiz Eduardo Teles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kauan Fontes to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Nelsinho Brodel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luiz Eduardo Teles. That made the score 0-1 in the 55 minute of play. Clóvis Peixoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Rosa in the 61st minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Nelsinho Brodel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Eduardo Teles. Gueto SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nelsinho Brodel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of Macacu SC booed when Gueto SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fabiano Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nelsinho Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clóvis Peixoto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Rosa in the 78th minute of the match. Clóvis Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vito Vieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, Macacu SC's goal looked a bit too open when Vito Vieira came free, but Clóvis Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nelsinho Brodel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the game, Kauan Fontes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luiz Eduardo Teles. Kauan Fontes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Nelsinho Brodel's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Luiz Eduardo Teles firmly grabbed it by the left post.
