Luiz Eduardo Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sydney Pirani in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes into the match, Angicalinho SC's Benjamin Reis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Eduardo Teles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gueto SC's Vito Vieira got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Afonso Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 8 minutes, Robinho Alvarenga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Angicalinho SC and the Gueto SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 8 played minutes Angicalinho SC got a freekick which was hit by Robinho Alvarenga. 10 minutes into the match, Vito Vieira notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Angicalinho SC's Pedro Schmidt. Pedro Schmidt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Adelino Catarinense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gueto SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Adelino Catarinense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Schmidt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute, Vito Vieira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Angicalinho SC's Pedro Schmidt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Rosa in the 17th minute of play. Sydney Pirani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Eduardo Teles having to interfere. Benjamin Reis struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Luiz Eduardo Teles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Angicalinho SC. Afonso Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sydney Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamin Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th match minute, Gueto SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thiago Tasso to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sydney Pirani to strike the kick off in the second half. If Sydney Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. Pedro Schmidt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vito Vieira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Angicalinho SC defense, Afonso Rosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Schmidt. The Angicalinho SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Schmidt should have stopped the shot. In the 93rd minute Rafinha Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Eduardo Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alfredinho Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gueto SC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
